Nice To Meet You!
I'm Annie Brandt

I am a play advocate and researcher, school-based
speech-language pathologist, and mother. In 2022, I developed a program called Learning Expanded Through Active Play (L.E.A.P.). Developing this program was the result of years of research on the topic of play, my own observations of students in the K-6 setting, and my experiences as a parent. In 2016, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to complete research through a Fulbright grant to Finland, which provided insights into a different model of education where students flourish through access to play. After several years of piloting L.E.A.P., I founded
Supporting Kids in Play (S.K.I.P) to spread the important message of play. I provide training to educators, community members, and college students to explain the vital importance of play.
My study of play continues through my current doctoral work at Drexel University. Additionally, I am an Affiliate Researcher at Drexel's Education, Learning, and Brain Sciences (E-LaBS) research collaborative.
